    • Say hello by typing in “Hi,” then follow the prompts to enter your ID and phone number.
    • Status will be updated instantly, and payment information will be sent. 

    3. USSD Code

    • Dial 1203210# or 12069277#, but only when using your registered cell phone.
    • Following instructions will allow you to check your status via SMS.
    • In case you have little or no internet access, this is the way to go. 

    4. SASSA Call Centre

    • Number 0800 60 10 11.
    • Please provide your ID number and details of application.
    • Then call confirm your status and resolve your issues with the agent.

    What To Do If Your Status Shows Issues

    If the status is “Pending,” then kindly allow a span of about 7-14 days for the verification procedure. If it is marked as “Declined,” then you are allowed to appeal within 90 days through their portal at srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals and attach all necessary documentation. Upon “Bank Details Pending” status, you would want to make sure to update your bank details early enough on the SASSA portal so as not to impede your payment for 05 September.
